Jasmins Weight Loss Story

When I was 18 years old and in massage therapy school

 I was very unhealthy.

I had a huge need for change.

Just four years earlier my mom had a heart attack and my dad was diagnosed with lymphoma and diabetes.

I was rebeling against my mothers very bland chicken rice and vegetable meals.

I was 220 pounds. I had neck and back pain.

I ate out everywhere. Multiple times a day.

I had uncooked cookie dough as a meal option in my mindset.

My doctor was upset about my weight with my family history. She prescribed me on amphetamine based weight loss pills as the age of 18. I had a nervous break down early into the prescription and decided to quit taking it.

I was still overweight.

So the doctors suggestions kept coming. Dehydration based laxatives. Colonoscopies. Here take this pill and we are going to shoot radiation at your bowels to see if you can actually move your intestines. The only part that doctor gets credit in teaching me is she had me write my meals down and provided a numerical METRIC to track hydration.

Guess what? At 18 years old none of those tests could figure it out. No cancer. No dead nerves.

Must be my genetics right?

Eventually I finished massage therapy school and started working for a chiropractor.

Have you ever noticed how lucky you are to meet people at work sometimes?

I started learning from a personal trainer. I started attending classes with others who were struggling with their health and got the support, knowledge and skills that I needed to live as a human.

I released over 70 pounds from my life.

Recoveries from everything have always been fast.

I am on zero medications.

And despite my body's history or my genetics

 I am healthy and balanced.
